My research focus primarily revolves around the taxonomy, systematics, biogeography, and evolution of fish, with a particular emphasis on elasmobranchs. During my postdoctoral tenure at the renowned Meyer Lab, I aim to expand my expertise in elucidating the genetic determinants underlying morphological and meristic traits crucial for fish identification and taxonomic classification. These traits encompass structures like the number of vertebrae and lateral line scales. Additionally, I am deeply intrigued by the fascinating subject of sympatric speciation in cichlids, particularly in Central American cichlids. I am confident that my research thrives in its synergy with the esteemed Professor Axel Meyer and the Meyer Lab team, and I am enthusiastic about the professional growth and learning opportunities this collaboration offers.
